Event Tree capabilities. Relex Fault Tree software is augmented with an effective Event Tree module to capably handle your event tree analysis needs. You can use the Relex Event Tree graphical interface to visually map out your event chains using a series of branches representing the event failure and success paths, and then compute the likelihood of your system's consequences.
MCS algorithms. Relex Fault Tree calculations incorporate a Minimal Cut Set (MCS) calculation engine that quickly determines minimal cut sets and offers the capability to view cut sets on screen. Information from an MCS analysis can be used for computing the availability and reliability of the system. You can select between cut set summation, cross product, exact, or Esary Proschan methods for fault tree computations.

Widely used in system reliability and safety studies, fault tree analysis offers the ability to focus on an event of importance, such as a highly critical safety issue, and work to minimize its occurrence or consequence. Fault tree analyses are performed using a top-down approach. Starting with a top-level event, fault tree analysis is performed by working down to evaluate all the contributing events that may ultimately lead to the occurrence of the top-level event. The resulting fault tree diagram is a graphical representation of the chain of events in your system or process, built using events and logical gate configurations. The probability of the top-level event can then be determined by using mathematical techniques.

Meeting every need. Relex ® Fault Tree Analysis software supports an impressive array of gate types, such as AND, OR, NOR, NAND, NOT, XOR, Transfer, Voting, Inhibit, and various event types, such as Basic, House, and Undeveloped. Relex Fault Tree takes fault tree analysis to a new level by incorporating support for dynamic gates. Invoking an underlying Markov solver, Relex Fault Tree efficiently analyzes the most complex scenarios. Relex Fault Tree supports Priority AND, Functional Dependency, Spare, and Sequence Enforcing dynamic gates.

Powerful calculations. Relex Fault Tree Analysis software supports both quantitative and qualitative analyses, providing computation flexibility based on your requirements. A number of results are available, including unreliability, unavailability, frequency of failures, and the number of failures. Relex Fault Tree incorporates a Minimal Cut Set (MCS) engine that quickly determines the minimal cut sets and supports interactive, on-screen cut set highlighting.

The Relex Architect platform. Relex Fault Tree includes all the advanced features of Relex Architect's robust, proven framework. A rich user interface is coupled with innovative features such as the invaluable Project Navigator for centralised Project control, the Relex Bar for customised one-click operations, the Task List for quick access to commonly used tasks, and data filtering for ultimate user control of data views. Comprehensive reporting capabilities include easy-to-use Report and Graph Wizards for complete user customisation of output reports and graphs. Relex's Import/Export Wizard enables you to transfer your Project data to and from Relex in a variety of popular formats, including Microsoft Excel ® and Access ® . Additionally, Relex Architect modules are built on a common database, for optimal product integration and data sharing capabilities.

Built for the enterprise. Relex's Enterprise Edition supports the high performance, scalable needs of large user bases. Features such as support for Microsoft SQL Server ® and Oracle ® databases, permission based security, user and group roles, front end web interfaces, Relex Dashboard for a high-level overview of system metrics, audit trails for tracking data modifications, and customisable data connectors ensure that Relex meets the needs of full scale, enterprise-wide teams.

Advanced capabilities. Relex Fault Tree computes importance measures using Birnbaum, Criticality, and Fussell-Vesely methods. Relex Fault Tree can account for common cause failures using the Beta, MGL, Alpha, and BFR models. The unique Relex Fault Tree interface provides a simultaneous display of the fault tree in a standard graphical view as well as a compact tabular view. The expandable/collapsible table simplifies the viewing and editing of the properties of the various gates and events, especially in large trees. The graphical fault tree view can be exported as a bitmap or JPEG file to incorporate into reports, presentations, or web pages. Relex Fault Tree also includes the fully featured Relex Event Tree module, providing complete event tree analysis (ETA) capabilities including definition of failure and success paths and resulting likelihoods of consequences.
